This dissertation is based on my work during years 2011-2015, at the Intelligent and Interactive Systems (IIS) research group, University of Innsbruck. Specifically, my dissertation supports consumers in how “buy or not buy” decisions of shareable goods have to be adapted to “buy and lend or borrow” decisions and what consequences arise for the usage behavior of shareable goods due to the rise of online sharing platforms. Contributions and theoretical implications. Based on the findings of this dissertation, I developed a conceptual model covering the dimensions “level of analysis”, “measures to leverage connectivity” and “effects”.
